Erment - Column

View of single free-standing cylindrical column atop a stone wall, probably originally part of the temple of war-god Montu at Armant, dating from the 11th Dynasty to the Roman period (c.2040 BC-AD 200) and largely destroyed in the nineteenth century. Large stone debris and local man in the foreground and domed mudbrick buildings in the background.
