Medinet Habou - Entrance to the Temple
Detail of the portico of the first court of the temple complex of Rameses III (1184-1153 BC) at Medinet Habu, showing two Osiride pillars, one with the figure of Osiris almost complete. Pillars, entablature and wall to the left are carved with hieroglyphs. The temple complex at Medinet Habu, built over structures dating from the Middle Kingdom, dates from the New Kingdom to the Late period (c.1550-332 BC) and consists mostly of the mortuary temple of Rameses III.
