The Colossi of Memnon, Thebes

A painting by the an orientalist painter Carl Werner (German, 1808-1894) of the Colossi of Memnon during the moonlight at the Necropolis of Thebes, during the seasonal flooding of the Nile, The Aswan Damn was built to stopped the damaging affects of the annual flooding of the Nile which was occurring since the pre-recorded time.
